What Out-of-State Buyers Should Know About Building a New Construction Home in Naples, FL

New Constuction Angela Graziano November 26, 2025

How Florida’s Construction Standards Differ from Northern and West Coast Markets

A large portion of my new-construction clients come from the Midwest, Northeast, and West Coast. Many of them ask what’s different about building in Florida — and Naples specifically — compared to what they’re used to.

There’s a lot to know, and I walk them through it step by step.

Naples construction emphasizes hurricane protection, elevation standards, concrete block builds, and impact windows.
Climate influences design choices, too: tile floors, covered lanais, extended outdoor living, and pool packages are often essential for Florida living.

Builders here also operate differently than in northern markets. Timelines, permitting, design studio processes, and communication vary from community to community. I help out-of-state clients navigate remote walkthroughs, milestone updates, and the phases of construction so they feel connected and supported throughout the process.

Most importantly, I help them understand the lifestyle side of new construction — how they’ll live in the home during the season, how outdoor spaces function, and what each community offers that complements the way they want to enjoy Naples.

For many out-of-state buyers, building new is the most exciting part of starting a new chapter in Southwest Florida. I make sure they feel confident every step of the way.
